Å Entelios and the Nordic subsidiaries of World Kinect have entered into an agreement to transfer Kinect's portfolio of business customers in the Nordic region to Å Entelios. The transaction is expected to make Å Entelios, which currently manages 34 TWh in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, one of the leading power suppliers in the public and private sectors in the Nordic region. World Kinect's portfolio represents an additional 10 TWh.
We are proud to have reached an agreement with World Kinect on this agreement. It gives us and our customers in the Nordic region new product benefits that we look forward to realizing. But first and foremost, we will now take care of the new customers in the best possible way, and assist them in further reducing their electricity consumption, electricity costs and carbon emissions, says CEO Kolbjørn Hembre of Å Entelios.
In line with our efforts to optimize our geographic portfolio, we have agreed with Å Entelios to transfer our Nordic electricity customers. We remain committed to protecting our customers and ensuring continuity of service throughout this transition, said Peggy Meyer, SVP, Global Energy Supply and Trading at World Kinect.
Strengthens Å Entelio's position in the Nordic region
According to Executive Vice President for Markets in Å Energi, Ingvill Heskestad Mykland, the agreement is also important for the Å Energi Group.
This agreement is in line with the Group's strategy of realizing new opportunities that increase customer volume and portfolio management. It will both strengthen our position in the Nordic region and strengthen our ability to handle all aspects of an increasingly complex energy market, says Heskestad Mykland.
Illustration of the complexity of the market
Our industry has to navigate an increasingly complex power market, which has entailed greater risk for the players. In order to be able to handle these challenges in a safe and predictable way for customers, expertise and volume will become even more important in the future, says Hembre.
To be assessed by the competition authorities
The transaction is scheduled to close on 1 January 2026. However, this is subject to approval from the competition authorities in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
